Back to the Future

In Ten Directions the world economy in the 22nd Century runs on 'Ecos' which are a credit based on the common good produced by a efforts to restore the health of the Earths climate and ecosystems. A group of parents-teachers-friend volunteers, Maia Maia, at local schools actually managed to implement this crazy idea and one of the local schools, Coolbinia Primary, won the United Nations in Australia Environmental School award by incorporating those ideas in their curriculum. A lot of the lessons learned were incorporated into the book. Going back down memory lane here is a blog post which preceeded these successes and predicting the world in Ten Directions.
